Occupational Therapy

 

Family Achievement Center (FAC) occupational therapists evaluate and treat a wide range of conditions including, but not limited to:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorders, Asberger’s Pervasive Developmental Disorders

  • Cerebral Palsy

  • Down Syndrome

  • ADHD

  • Learning Disabilities

  • Cystic Fibrosis

  • Epilepsy

  • Anxiety Disorders

  • Sensory Integration Dysfunction (hypo/hyperacuity, dyspraxia, etc.)

  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder

  • Muscle Incoordination

  • Low Muscle Tone

 
  • Developmental Delay

  • Tourette’s

  • Microcephaly

  • Hydrocephalus

  • Fetal Alcohol Syndrome

  • Arthrogryposis

  • Spina Bifida

  • Traumatic Brain Injury

  • Mental Retardation

  • Balance/processing disorders secondary to chronic otitis media/allergies

  • Encephalitis

  • Angelman’s Syndrome

The treatment techniques used at Family Achievement Center include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Sensory Integration Education

  • Feeding Skills: Therapists trained in Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding

  • Academic Skills: Handwriting, Attention, Focus, Regulation

  • Life Skills Groups (various ages - please inquire)

 
  • Berard Auditory Integration Training (AIT) (minimum age of 3 years)

  • Interactive Metronome (IM) (minimum age of 7 years)

  • Craniosacral Therapy

  • Hydrotherapy

  • Self Cares
